About Us
Be a Part of Our Miracle!
God works in amazing, but predictable ways... according to the promises that he has made in Holy Scripture. He keeps his promises to those who are faithful. In Mark 1:28-31, Jesus promises that no one who has the courage to sacrifice home or brother or sister or mother or father or fields for him or the gospel will fail to receive 100 times as much in the present age." That means putting Jesus and the truth of the gospel 1st regardless of the cost....and then watching for what God will do in response.
In June 2005, as a direct result of our decision to put Jesus and the truth of the gospel first, the congregation of Christ the Redeemer, Pender Harbour were evicted from the church buildings they had built and maintained. As a control mechanism, the Diocese of New Westminster holds the deeds to all congregations' church property, regardless of who paid for or maintains them. The cost of our defiant faithfulness to Christ was eviction.
This persecution resulted in the loss of a 1200 sq. ft. 90 seat sanctuary, and the Christian education spaces downstairs and in the house next door worth about $7-800,000. However, God is faithful!
Our Pastor Barclay Mayo was surfing the internet for a building that could be placed on the lot we had purchased beside the Pender Harbour High School the previous summer. He found the Evergreen church building on Nickel Brothers Website. Barclay showed it to some of us over e-mail and we started praying. "Lord if that is the building you want us to bring here for your Glory, then you have to give us the finances and the help that is needed to do so." And guess what? God heard our prayer, answered and is still doing it! Here is the result!

One of our Elders (Wardens) Ian and his wife Nancy went on an Alaska cruise and met Noel. They witnessed and shared their stories of faith with each other. The result was another miracle, without which it would have been impossible to get the church building ready to move on time. Noel called the faithful brothers and sister from Courtney and Campbell River to give of their time and energy to help with the deconstruction & preparation. The blessing and fellowship that came with this ministry impacted our contractor Max deeply. He says that he knows now that wherever we go in this world, in the Lords Name, we will find His followers willing to glorify Him.
The Campbell River and Courtney congregations have blessed us greatly, and we pray that they in turn will be blessed in Jesus Name. Our friends at All Saints, White Rock, came on their first "mission trip" to help with the drywall. Many people from the Sunshine Coast and wider Christian community have donated their time, finances and talents to bring this project to completion.

We are now worshiping in the church and working hard to complete the downstairs hall, kitchen, children's ministry and youth rooms. We are almost completed the project with just a few finishing touches needed. Come and see what God is doing. And, if you feel the Lord calling you, please make a donation. Thank you for your prayerful support.
To God be the Glory, for ever and ever!
